App-controlled vs on-device settings
On-device settings are modes or intensities available from physical buttons or a local interface without opening a companion app.
App-controlled settings are patterns, intensities, or pairing features described in manufacturer materials as available through a mobile app, often over Bluetooth or a similar local wireless link.
The same product can list both. Example: LELO HUGO 2 documents 4 default modes on the device and 6 additional modes via the LELO app. When we say app-controlled, we mean this documented control path. We do not claim that every feature requires an account, or that remote use is appropriate for every situation.
We use app-controlled as the outward category label.

Controls and connection fields

Privacy and account notes
Companion apps may require an account, permissions (Bluetooth, notifications, microphone, or location, depending on the brand), and cloud or peer features for long-distance use. Manufacturer privacy policies and operating-system permission prompts are the authoritative sources. We do not promise absolute security, anonymity, or risk-free remote control. Handle shared devices and shared accounts like any other intimate digital tool: check permissions, update the app, and use features you understand.
